POETRY AND PROSE
Spring Trimester 2012
Students and teacher will read together from a wide variety of contemporary and classical poetry.
We will discuss and ask questions about the meanings of the poetry read.
We will analyze the poetic elements used to achieve the final effect the author intended.
We will complete worksheets on poetic devices.
We will write poetry or prose on similar topics and themes to share with the other class members.
MEETS THE FOLLOWING MN STANDARDS:
D. Literature: The student will actively engage in the reading process and read, understand, respond to, analyze, interpret, evaluate and appreciate a wide variety of poetic text.
