Geometry

This is the third part of the one year geometry program. If you took Geometry in fall/winter trimesters, this will be the next math class for you to sign up.
You can see geometric shapes, symmetry, and three dimensional objects in your classroom, at home, in buildings and in nature. In this class, we are going to learn about those concepts in mathematical point of view. We will learn about reasoning and proof, lines and triangles in this trimester. You will also do a project to learn how geometry is used in real life. This class is recommended for 9 -12 graders who already have taken algebra, even if they did not take geometry in fall.

The following Minnesota Math Standards will be covered in the class:

1. Creating geometrical shapes using compass
2. Lines and triangles
3. Congruent and similar triangles
4. Reasoning and proof
